Bottled Mineral Water
Over at the Gatton & District Historical Society, there is a relatively complete bottle collection that supplied the market with Helidon mineral water. A small sample of three bottles are depicted spanning the years 1880 to 1959.
A water storage facility was built next to the Helidon Spa Park kiosk and operated for many decades. Tanker trucks would stop by the dock to be filled. Over this time, the mineral waters produced by the bores were marketed by several large companies, Kirks being one of them.
This water pumping, storage and tanker dock infrastructure still exists today. With a little bit of TLC, the area should be open to the village customers to view all this history.
